Specimen No.1  Specimen No.1

A hornet’s nest - slightly bigger than a human’s head - has been detached from a room in an abandoned hotel in a village in Greece. Preserved and placed on a white plinth behind grey glass and aliently lit by a grid light panel from beneath, this object is likewise an entomological, a cultural and an archaeological specimen - the remnant of a former colony, both revealing and enigmatic.
